Mrs. Zola V. Peters age 79 of Barbourville, KY departed this life on Thursday, March 27, 2008 at her home. She was the widow of Rufus Roberts and the ex-wife of James Eugene Peters. Mrs. Peters was born December 17, 1928 in Knox Co. to the late Daniel Brisco Helton & Ora
(Woods) Helton. Mrs. Peters believed in the Baptist faith, and was a homemaker, who loved to cook and garden.
Her parents, stepfather Woodrow Bradford, husband Rufus, three brothers Harold Helton, Monace Helton, W.B. Helton, one sister Ruth Riggs, one grandchild Maggie Sturdivant preceded Mrs. Peters in death.
Survivors include six sons Beige Roberts of Himyar, KY., Ricky Peters & wife Rhonda of Barbourville, KY., Harold Jr, Roberts of Morrow, Ohio., Lee Roy Roberts & wife Dorothy of Detroit, MI., Charles Roberts of Barbourville, KY., James Peters, Jr. of Barbourville, KY., two
Daughters Edith Fuston of Barbourville, KY., Frieda Roberts of Barbourville, KY., two brothers James Brafford of Lexington, Ky., Reid Brafford of Woodbine, KY., one sister Wilma Watkins & husband Herman of Oakridge, TN., 23 Grandchildren, 34 Great Grandchildren, 16 Great Great Grandchildren. Plus a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral services for Mrs. Zola Peters will be conducted on Monday – March 31, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Pete Clark & Rev. Randy Clark officiating. Burial will follow in the Warren Cemetery at Girdler with Terry Brown, Michael Tuttle, Frankie Tuttle, Robert Hobbs, Melvin Kelly, and Kenny Frye serving as pallbearers. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
Visitation will be held Saturday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Monday from 9:00 a.m until the hour of service at 1:00p.m.
