Zella Gilbert

Mrs. Zella Gilbert age 89, of Scott Branch, Rd. Barbourville passed away Friday, February 27, 2009 at her residence. She was born on November 5, 1919 in Harlan, KY to the union of James and Mary (Hornsby) Osborne. She was a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church and was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents James and Mary Osborne, two daughters, Mary Carnes and Mayo Hubbard, three brothers, Wallace Osborne, Grover Osborne and Reed Osborne and six sisters, Margaret Klinger, Opal Brooks, Anna Price, Maude Jossey, Ethel and Nellie.
Survivors include her husband Bill Gilbert, one son Jack Gilbert and wife Beulah of Centerville, Ohio, three brothers, Frank Osborne of Springsboro, Ohio, Fred Osborne and wife Doris of Cardington, Ohio and Paul Osborne of Louisiana, four sisters Lucy Lowe and husband Gene of Mount Gilead, Ohio, Freda Barnes of Milburn, Florida, Nola Robinson and husband Donald of Mount Vernon, Ohio and Helen of Florida, six grandchildren and six great grandchildren, a special niece and nephew Michelle Sizemore and Patrick Gilbert both of Girdler, special friends Bill and Pat Hacker, Marie Chesnut, Agnes Stacy and Sandra Davis along with a host of many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Mrs Zella Gilbert will be on Tuesday March 3, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the New Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Lonnie Colett and Rev. Brian Hacker officiating. Burial will follow in the Bill Gilbert Cemetery at Barbourville with pallbearers being Pat Gilbert, Mike Sizemore, Bill Hacker, Johnny Collett, Dwight Messer and Clevland House. Honorary pallbearers are all family and friends. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.

The family of Mrs Zella Gilbert will receive friends on Monday March 2, 2009 at New Bethel Baptist Church from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Tuesday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 11:00 a.m.
