Mrs. Wilma Lee Lawson age 63 of Barbourville, Ky. passed away Tuesday-July 10, 2007 in the Knox Co. Hospital. She was the daughter of Robert Garland and Dessie Carter Garland born to them January 22, 1944 in Knox Co. Ky. Mrs. Lawson was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Sinking Valley Baptist Church.
Her parents, two brother-in-laws Don and Jr. Lawson, and two sister-in-laws Susie Lawson and Mae Jones preceded Mrs. Lawson in death. Survivors include: Loving husband of 44 years: Thomas Lawson of Barbourville, Ky. Daughter: Kathy Faye Messer Lawson of Barbourville Sisters: Wanda Lawson of Barbourville, Ky. Thelma Lawson and husband Bill of Barbourville, Ky. Florence Peavley and husband Tommy of Barbourville, Ky. Beaulah Hubbard and husband Harold of Barbourville, Ky. Brothers: Jerry Garland and wife Donna of Cannon, Ky. Joe Garland and wife Debbie of Cannon, Ky. Sister-in-law: Mary Reece of Lagrange, Ky. Brother- in-laws: Jack Lawson and wife Brenda of Flat Lick, Ky. Enoch Lawson and wife Kathy of Barbourville, Ky. Jimmy Horton and wife Barbara of Ohio Special friends: Linda Morris, Thomas Messer and Jesse Moore. Mrs. Lawson also leaves behind 12 nieces and nephews in addition to a host of friends and neighbors to mourn her passing. Funeral services for Mrs. Lawson will be conducted on Friday-July 13 at 2 p.m. in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Johnny Fisher and Rev. Garrett Garland officiating. Pallbearers will be nephews and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. West, Dr. Peterson and the Knox Co. Hospital Staff. Burial will follow in the Jackson-Garland Cemetery at Cannon, Ky. Hampton Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
