Mr. William McKinley Vaughn age 87 of Callebs Creek, KY departed this life on Sunday- May 1st, 2011 at his home, he was the husband of Elizabeth (Betty)Saylor Vaughn and the son of the late Harvey & Sudie (Davis) Vaughn of Clay County born to them on February 18th, 1924.

Mr. Vaughn was a member of the Dripping Springs Baptist Church and was a former worker for the county road department, former coal miner, railroader, and farmer.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife Dorothy Vaughn, two brothers Manuel, and Reid Vaughn and seven sisters Norene Grubbs, Lola Sprinkles, Anna Mae Davis, Bertha Riley, Jessie Hart, Nancy Taylor and Lena Gray. Two grandchildren Earl Steven Vaughn, and Earl Keith McKinley Vaughn, two great grandchildren Douglas. Lumley Jr. and Landon Tye, stepchild Andrew Jackson Hensley, a son-in-law George Hale, and a brother-in-law Thurman Hubbard.

Left behind to mourn his passing is his wife Elizabeth (Betty) Vaughn of Callebs Creek, KY, six sons Clifton Vaughn & wife Brenda of Stoneville, NC, Earl Vaughn & wife Shirley of Eminence, KY, Carl Dale Vaughn of London, KY, McKinley Vaughn & wife Debbie of Hammons Fork, KY, Eddie Vaughn & wife Bobbie of Green road, KY, and Ted Vaughn & wife Sherry of Hammons Fork, KY, six daughters Irene Hale of Green road, KY, Jean Hagger & husband Ron of Hammons Fork, KY, Christine Young of Corbin, KY, Nancy Barnett & husband Doug of Barbourville, KY, Patsy Jones & husband Jerry of Girdler, KY, Janice Evans & husband Johnny of Green road, KY, Two brothers Richard Vaughn & Glenn Vaughn both of Barbourville, KY, one sister Nola Hubbard of Barbourville, KY, Twenty five Grandchildren, Twenty four Great Grandchildren with one on the way. Plus eight step-grandchildren and several step Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. Plus a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

Funeral services for Mr. Vaughn will be conducted on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ricky Broughton & Rev. Charlie Murphy officiating. Pallbearers will be Grandsons; Honorary Pallbearers will be Professional Home Health Staff, Tri-County Hospice, and Rev. Dewayne Smith & wife Shelia and members of the Dripping Springs Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Anderson Smith Cemetery at Woolum, KY. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the Hampton Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 1:00 p.m.
