Vocus Broughton

Mr. Vocus Broughton age 58 of Cannon, Ky departed this life on Monday, June 28, 2010 in the Rockcastle Regional Hospital. He was born on December 30, 1951 in Knox Co. and was the son of Stanley Lee Broughton and Edna Cecil (Smith) Broughton. He was a member of the Sinking Valley Baptist Church. He had been a custodian at Girdler Elementary School for twenty-eight years and was also a school bus driver. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Preceding him in death are his parents Stanley and Edna Broughton, two brothers, Rev. David Lee Broughton and Adam Broughton and one brother in law, Roger Mills.
Survivors include his two daughters, Jennifer Blish and husband Greg of Corbin, and Rachel Holt and husband Robert of London, three grandchildren, Emily Partin, Kevin Holt and Wesley Blish, four brothers, Linville Broughton and wife Nina, Steve Broughton and wife Doris, Derris Broughton and wife Stephanie and Perry Broughton and his late wife Richie Lynn all of Cannon, three sisters, Linda Mills of Gray, Lovella Messer and husband Nelson and Purity Mae Lewis and husband Pat all of Cannon, a sister in law, Janice Broughton of Cannon. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services for Mr. Vocus Broughton will be conducted on Friday, July 2, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Vernon Morris and Rev. Keaton Smith officiating. Pallbearers will be Braxton Lovett, David Broughton, Chris Broughton, Steven Broughton, Ken Garland, Hearsel Jordan, Ryan Severin and Rick Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Vora and staff and the Rockcastle Regional Hospital Respiratory Care staff. Mr. Broughton will be laid to rest in the Bingham Cemetery at Cannon. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.

Friends will be received at the Hampton Funeral Home on Thursday evening
from 6;00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Friday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 11:00 a.m.
