Mrs. Virgie Lois Swafford, age 76, of Barbourville, Kentucky, the widow of Bobby Jack Swafford, passed away on Tuesday, November 6, 2018.  She was the daughter of Ben and Leddie (Wagers) Lawson, born to them on January 25, 1942 in Manchester, Kentucky.  Virgie was a member of the United Methodist Church of Barbourville.  She loved working in her vegetable garden, canning and was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Bobby Jack Swafford and her parents Ben and Leddie Lawson.

Left behind to mourn her passing four sons Eugene Swafford and wife Gladys of Barbourville, Kentucky, Jeff Swafford and wife Becky of Maysville, Georgia, Dewayne Swafford of Barbourville, Kentucky, and Charles Swafford of Barbourville, Kentucky, five daughters Brenda Swafford of Barbourville, Kentucky, Alene Baker and husband Darrel of Barbourville, Kentucky, Imogene Crawford of Fairfield, Iowa, Vickie Swafford of Jeffersonville, Indiana, and Linda Swafford and husband Mark of Barbourville, Kentucky, seventeen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and four sisters and sister-in-law, Juanita Miller of Woodbine.  She leaves behind a host of many other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Virgie Lois Swafford will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home, with Reverend Ronnie Rose officiating.  Pallbearers will be Jeff Swafford, Eugene Swafford, Charles Swafford, Mark Smith, Charles Keys, Kolten Swafford, Patrick Ballew and Marcus Swafford.  Burial will follow in the Swafford Cemetery at Jarvis, Kentucky.  Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.

Friends will be received at Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home on Thursday, November 8th from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Friday, November 9th from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on Saturday, November 10th from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
