Viola Brown

Mrs. Viola Brown age 81, of Dewitt passed away Wednesday-January 19, 2011 at St. Joseph East Hospital in Lexington, KY. She was the widow of Fred Brown, and the daughter of the late Daw & Barbara ( Baker) Brown born to them on July 17th, 1929 in Knox County.

Viola was a homemaker and was a member of the Salt Gum Baptist Church. Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one brother Gilbert Brown, one sister Evelyn Brown , one granddaughter Vicki Jo Mills, and three great grandchildren, Taylor Brown, Gary Brown and Jacob Price.

Left behind to mourn her passing is two sons Euless Brown, and Alvie Brown & wife Patricia, and one daughter Ersel Brown & husband Burl all of Dewitt, KY, three sisters Rosie Brown of Bimble, KY, Margret Miller & husband Earl of Scalf, KY, and Martha Grubb & husband Tommy of Barbourville, KY, eight brothers Garrett Brown of Dewitt, KY, Eugene Brown & wife Virginia , Daw Brown, Roger Brown, Obie Brown & wife Penny, and Ernest Brown & wife Susie all of Scalf, KY, Virgil Brown & wife Janice of KY 119, Evie Brown & wife Mildred of Walker, KY, sixteen grandchildren, and eighteen great grandchildren, plus a host of other relative and friends to mourn her passing.

Funeral services for Mrs. Brown will be conducted on Sunday-January 23rd,2011 at 1:00 p.m. in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. A.Y. Mills & Rev. Donnie Mills officiating. Pallbearers will be Anthony Hammons, Chris Patterson, Denver Brown, Wayne Brown, Dustin Brown, Jamie Price, Adam Price, and Stacy Bennett. Mrs. Brown will be laid to rest in the John’s Branch Cemetery at Scalf, KY. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the Hampton Funeral Home on Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 12:00 noon until 9:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 1:00p.m.
