Mr. Vernon Moore age 78 of Corbin, KY departed this life on Thursday – October 9th, 2008 at his home. He was the husband of Bama (Collins) Moore and the son of the late Starling & Betty (Sharp) Moore born to them in Knox County, KY on June 17, 1929. Vernon believed in the Baptist faith and attended the Swan Pond Baptist Church. He enjoyed working in the yard, and just getting out and riding around. He is preceded in death by his parents Starling and Betty Moore, two brothers Dewey Moore and Floyd Moore, four sisters Lillie Taylor, Flossie Fuston, Maudie Stamper and Delia Lake, one grandchild Adam Hall and one great grandchild.
Survivors include his wife Bama Moore of Corbin, KY; one son Dennis Moore of Corbin, KY; two daughters Brenda Hays of Lexington, KY; Kathy Edward & husband Lonnie of Gray, KY; one sister Gladys Hopper of Bryant Store, KY; five Grandchildren, and four Great Grandchildren. Vernon also leaves behind a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing. Funeral services for Mr. Vernon Moore will be conducted in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Monday – October 13, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Denvil Taylor officiating. Pallbearers will be Family & Friends. Interment will be in the Barbourville Cemetery. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 1:00 p.m.
