Thomas "Tommy" Samuel Abner

Thomas “Tommy” Samuel Abner, age 55 of Gray, Kentucky departed this life on Sunday, April 28, 2024 at his home. He was the son of Sandra (Abner) Bowman and Paul Douglas Brock born to them on April 12, 1969 in Pontiac, Michigan. Tommy believed in the Baptist faith. He enjoyed traveling, dining out and computers. His greatest enjoyment was being a member of the Fire Department. He was a volunteer fireman for many of the local fire departments here in Knox County, some of which were, Artemus Fire Department, Bailey Switch Fire Department and East Knox Fire Department.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Sandra Bowman, father, Paul Douglas Brock, grandparents, Tommy & Hilda Abner along with several aunts and uncles.

Left behind to mourn his passing, his sister, Paula Partin and husband Todd of Gray, nephews, Travis Partin and Tyler Partin, great nieces and nephews, Emma Brown, Abby Partin, J.T. Partin, Levi Partin and Dallas Partin, his stepfather, Jerry Bowman, two aunts, Sylvia Brock and Helen Abner, a special friend, Ellen Trent of Georgia along with many other cousins, relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Tommy Abner will be held at the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, May 2, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Jim Bargo officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Fisher Cemetery at Heidrick. Pallbearers will be his nephews, Travis Partin and Tyler Partin along with members of the fire department.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 1:00.
