Mr. Thomas “T.J.” Jordan, age 68 of Flat Lick, KY passed away at his home on Monday July 28, 2008. He was born on March 31,1940 in Fount, KY to the late Jeff and Nancy Mills Jordan. He was united in marriage to Audrey Black Jordan on November 14, 1957. T.J. retired from the Knox County Board of Education after 32 years of service and was a member of Old Flat Lick Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by one daughter Louise Jordan; and six brothers will, R.J., Victor, Chester, Dewey and Woodson Jordan.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Audrey Black Jordan and five children: Lewis Jordan and wife Sherry of Gray, KY, Barbara Brown and husband John of Scalf, KY, Linda Hall and husband Kenny of Dewitt, KY, Roger Jordan and wife Beverly of Flat Lick, KY, and Katherine Mills and husband Marvin of Jeff’s Creek, KY. Two Brothers; Rev. Hubert Jordan and wife Lynn of Manchester, KY and W.O. Jordan of Artemus, KY. Two sisters; Mable Laws of Pineville, KY and Helen Lakatos and husband Alex of Fairborn, Ohio. He is also survived by 11 Grandchildren, 9 Great Grandchildren, and one very special brother in law Henry Black whom he loved like a brother and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing. Funeral services for Mr. Thomas “T.J.” Jordan will be conducted on Saturday August 2, 2008 in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Lindburgh Ramsey and Rev. Glen Collins officiating. Burial will follow in the Farley Cemetery at Flat Lick, KY with Grandsons serving as pallbearers and Friends and family serving as honorary pallbearers. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
