Mr. Thomas Gray age 75 of Artemus, KY departed this life on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at his home. He was the son of Dewey Gray and Julie (Mills) Gray, born to them on August 18, 1942 in Knox County. In November of 1964, he united in marriage with Edith (Wombles) Gray.  He believed in the Holiness Faith and had been a logger. He loved to dig for roots, hunt, fish and especially loved being with his grandchildren and family.

He is preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Leamon, Charlie and Delbert Gray and three sisters, Edna Hobbs, Lena Rice and Ruah Hubbard.

Left behind to mourn his passing, his wife of fifty-four years, Edith Gray of Artemus, his son Herman Gray and wife Roberta of Girdler, his daughter, Brenda Donaldson and husband Mark of Artemus, two brothers, Chris Gray and wife June of Flat Lick and Eugene Gray and wife Virgie also of Flat Lick, six grandchildren, Curtis & Jason Gray, Melissa Butler, Zachary Mills, Ethan and Makenna Donaldson and eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews who considered him their father and who he helped raise. He also leaves behind a host of  many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Thomas Gray will be conducted in the Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Nick Honeycutt, Rev. Eric Jordan and Rev. Golden Taylor officiating. Pallbearers will be Grandchildren and Nephews. He will be laid to rest in the Hammons Cemetery at Flat Lick. Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements. The family has asked that donations be made to the funeral home to assist with expenses. Donations may be made by clicking the "Appeal for Donations" button on this page.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
