Sylvia Smith

Mrs. Sylvia Bingham Smith age 55 of Dewitt passed away Thursday at the Knox County Hospital. She was born in Bell County, KY on September 28, 1955 to William and Ruby Miller Smith who preceded her in death. She was united in marriage to Oliver Smith who survives. She was a Homemaker and believed in the Holiness faith. In her spare time she loved Gardening, Flowers, playing Cards, spending time with family and friends, talking on the phone, shopping and setting on the porch.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by one brother: Darrell Smith.
Other survivors include one daughter Donna Mills and Jon Valdez of Flat Lick, one granddaughter Kayla Shanane Mills, three brothers: Earnest Smith and wife Karen of Warren, Michigan, Finley Smith and wife Charlotte of Dewitt, Harold Smith and wife Donna of Wayne, Michigan, seven sisters: Viola Smith of Barbourville, Pearl Gambrel and husband Everett of Dewitt, Geraldine Mills and husband Gary Wendell of Flat Lick, Shirley Martin and husband Paul of Jeffersonville, KY, Karen Williamson and husband Larry of Gray, Loudina Mills and husband Danny of Dewitt, Stella Smith and husband Bill of Dewitt. Plus a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral services for Sylvia Bingham Smith will be conducted in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday April 12, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Stoney Brown and Rev. Roy Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow in the Manning Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Hampton Funeral Home Monday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Tuesday 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
