Shirley Whitehead

Mrs. Shirley Ann Whitehead age 65 of London, KY departed this life on Monday, September 14, 2009 at her home. She was the wife of James Ralph Whitehead and the daughter of Ben Franklin McKinney and Thelma Francis Parise McKinney. She was born on November 23, 1943 in Virginia and was a self-employed tax preparer in Barbourville for many years.
She was a member of the Laurel River Baptist Church. She loved to do arts and crafts, enjoyed being with her grandchildren and loved her dog Angel.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Thelma McKinney and one sister, Sue Pugh.
Left behind to mourn her passing, her husband James of London, one daughter, Sheri Teresa Hinkle and husband Mike of London, two sisters Alberta Cornett of Great Falls, South Carolina and Loretta Hughes of South Carolina, eight grandchildren, Brandon Gregory, Kody Hinkle, Paige Stephens, Daniel Coffey Casey Gray, Kenny Hill, Bobby Jackson and Kelly Cox, one nephew Tim Cornette. Mrs. Whitehead also leaves behind a host of many other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.

A graveside funeral services for Mrs. Whitehead will be conducted on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at the Whitehead Cemetery with Rev. Charles Williams officiating at London, KY. Friends will be received at her home on Wednesday evening after 5:00 p.m. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
