Mrs. Shirley Jean Powell age 61 of Bimble, KY departed this life on Monday, May 11, 2015 at her home. She was the daughter of Amos and Mary Terry and the wife of Roger Dale Powell. Mrs. Powell was a member of the Scalf Chapel Pentecostal Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Ronald Terry and Bobby Terry and one sister, Judy Terry.
She is survived by her husband Roger Powell of Bimble, one son, Kenneth Scott Ivey of Covington, KY, three daughters, Kimberly Dawn Yowell and husband Jeremy of Duff, TN, Cynthia Broughton and husband Ricky of Corbin and Shawna Ivey of London, KY, two grandchildren, Sara Beth Yowell of Duff, TN and Kayleigh Faith Ledford of London, KY, , three brothers, Lonnie & Margaret Terry, Jimmy & Darlene Terry and Danny and Margaret Terry, four sisters, Polly and Jerry Yancy, Carolyn and Larry Yancy Kathy & Roger Bolton and Debra and John Holmes, her mother and father in law, James Ernest and Mandaline Powell of Bimble and brothers and sisters in law, Gary and Teresa Powell of Corbin and Sam and Terrisa Sutherland of Bimble. She also leaves behind a host of many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral services for Shirley Jean Powell will be conducted in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, May 15, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Clay Bishop, III and Rev. Jerry Yancy officiating. Pallbearers will be, Jeremy Yowell, Chase Ledford, Gary Powell, Ricky Broughton, Sam Sutherland and Justin Sutherland.
The family will receive friends at the Hampton Funeral Home on Friday from 12 noon until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
