Sharon Joy Graham

Sharon Joy Saunders Graham departed this life at her home on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 being 60 years and 8 days of age. She was born on March 21, 1956 in Knox County, Kentucky to the late Arthur Leland Saunders and the late Lois Faye Warfield Saunders Mowell. On March 18, 1972 Sharon married the love of her life, Lewis Graham and after 38 wonderful years of happy marriage he preceded her in death. In addition to her parents and husband, she is also preceded in death by her bonus dad Karl Mowell and her brother David Allen Saunders. Sharon believed in the Baptist faith and was a member of Northside Baptist Church of Barbourville. She loved nature and being outdoors, whether it was tending to her flowers and gardening or her trips to the lake. She treasured her the vacation she spent at the ocean and talked of it often. Sharon also lived on Lake Cumberland for over 20 years and cherished her time there. Her greatest joy however was being a homemaker.
Sharon leaves behind to mourn her passing two brothers: Michael Saunders and wife Vicky of Corbin and Tony Saunders and wife Charlotte of Corbin; two sisters: Donna Mills of Corbin and Karla Mowell of Corbin; two half-brothers: Mark Saunders and Arthur Saunders, Jr. both of Michigan; one half sister: Lynn Saunders also of Michigan and her beloved pet Lady, and a host of nephews, nieces, family and friends.
A funeral service to celebrate Sharon's life will be conducted on Friday, April 1, 2016 at 3:00PM in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kevin Roach and Rev. James Grubb officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Bradford Cemetery at Gray with Mike Saunders, Tony Saunders, Michael Saunders, George Saunders, Isaiah Mills and Chris Saunders serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 31, 2016 from 6:00PM until 9:00PM at Hampton Funeral Home.
