Sandra (Abner) Bowman age 68 of Gray, KY departed this life on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at her home with her family by her side. Sandra was the wife of Jerry Bowman and the daughter of Tommy & Hilda Abner born to them on June 27, 1946. Sandra was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and had retired from American Greeting Corp. in Corbin. Sandra loved to shop and travel and do crossword puzzles and especially loved spending time with her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Tommy & Hilda Abner, a brother, J.W. Abner, a half brother Tommy Abner, a step daughter, Elishell Lee Bowman, and a brother in law, Alvin Marion.
She is survived by her husband Jerry Bowman ,her son Tommy Brock, her daughter, Paula Partin and husband Todd all of Gray, KY, her grandchildren Travis Partin and wife Elizabeth of Barbourville and Tyler Partin of Gray, her great grandchildren, Emma Brown, Abby Partin, J.T. Partin and Levi Partin, one brother Bee Abner and wife Helen of Heidrick, sisters, Margaret Marion of Heidrick and Glenda Abner of Michigan, half brothers and sisters, Johnathan, Michael, Sabrina and Donna, her mother and father in law, Elmer and Mollie Bowman of London, brother in law, Bobby Bowman and wife Debbie of Laurel Co., a sister in law, Reda and husband Greg of West Virginia and two very special friends Angel Partin and Clara Mills. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and all her chuch family at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church along with a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral services for Sandra Bowman will be conducted in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at 12:00 noon with Rev. Garrett Garland officiating. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Travis and Tyler, all her nephews and Richard Bryant. Honorary pallbearers will be Hospice of the Bluegrass and all members of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. Sandra will be laid to rest in the Fisher Cemetery at Heidrick, KY. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
Friends will be received at the Hampton Funeral Home on Friday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 12:00 noon.
