Mrs. Samantha Mazzeline Smith age 85 of Gray, Ky. passed away on Monday-June 11, 2007 at her home.
She was united in marriage to Leonard Smith on June 7, 1937 and on Thursday-June 7 of 2007 the Smith’s celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. Mrs. Smith was the daughter of Jim Veach Miller and Nannie (Powell) Miller born to them on March 12, 1922 in Knox, Co. Ky. She was a member of the Southeastern Baptist Church in Gray, Ky. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters: Celia Miller and Leona McKeehan, three brothers: Richard Miller, Roy Miller and Everett Miller. Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband Leonard Smith, one son Randal Smith and wife Joyce of Michigan, one sister Verda Smith and husband Eugene of Michigan, three grandchildren Cynthia Lynn Tomczak and husband Paul, Laurie Ann Perosky and husband David, Steven Smith and wife Jennifer all of Michigan. Mrs. Smith also leaves behind six great grandchildren: Jessica, Alexandria, Christian, Tyler, Paul, Jr., and Isabelle and one great great grandchild Chelsea. Mrs. Smith also leaves behind a special caregiver Janice Ledford in addition to a host of relatives and friends to mourn her passing. Funeral services for Mrs. Samantha Mazzeline Smith will be conducted on Thursday-June 14, 2007 at 2 p.m. at the Southeastern Baptist Church in Gray, Ky. with the Rev. Mike Griffis and Rev. Stephen Griffis officiating. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Burial will follow at the Jackson-Trosper Cemetery. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
