Mr. Russell Barnes age 67 of Cannon, KY departed this life on Sunday, May 4, 2014 at his home. He was born on September 24, 1947 in Knox Co. the son of James and Ruby Barnes. Mr. Barnes had been a shipping supervisor at Homan Lumber Co. He believed in the Baptist faith.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Laymon Barnes.
Survivors include three sons, Vernon Paul Barnes and Page Barnes both of Seattle, Washington, and Russell James Barnes of Southbend, Indiana, six brothers, Oakley Barnes, Charles Barnes and Kenley Barnes, Eugene Barnes and wife Helen and Johnny Barnes and wife Jenny all of Girdler, KY, one sister, Ruth Holland of Barbourville. He also leaves behind two grandsons along with a host of many other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services for Mr. Russell Barnes will be conducted in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 12:00 noon with Rev. Lonnie Collett and Rev. Randy Jackson officiating. Pallbearers will be nephews of Mr. Barnes. Burial will follow in the Betty Frost Cemetery at Woolum. Hampotn Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.
Friends will be received at the Hampton Funeral Home on Friday evening
From 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. anon Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 12:00 noon.
