Ruby Smith

Mrs. Ruby Smith age 79, of Barbourville, KY passed away at her home on Thursday, June 26, 2008. She was the widow of William Finley Smith and the daughter of the late Floyd Smith & Pearl (Shoope) Smith of Bell Co. Mrs. Smith was a member of Clark’s Branch Holiness Church, and was a homemaker, who loved to work in flowers and just get out and ride around and look at different things (sight see). She is preceded in death by her parents Floyd and Pearl Smith, her husband William Finley Smith, one son Darrell Smith, one brother Earnest Miller and three sisters Bessie Carnes, Evelyne Collett, Bertha Miller.

Survivors include three sons Ernest Wayne Smith & and wife Karen of Warren, Michigan, Finley Smith & wife Charlotte of Dewitt, KY, Harold Smith & wife Donna of Wayne, Michigan, eight daughters Viola Williamson & husband Hobert of Barbourville, Pearl Gambrel & husband Everett Gambrel of Dewitt, Sylvia Smith & husband Oliver of Dewitt, Geraldine Mills & husband Gary Wendell of Flat Lick, Karen Gray & husband Roy Jr. Gray of Turkey Creek, Shirley Martin & husband Paul of Jeffersonville, KY, Loudina Mills & husband Danny of Dewitt, Stella Smith & husband Bill of Dewitt, Ky., four brothers Arnold Miller & wife Mary Lou of Manchester, Gene Miller & wife Floe of Tazewell, TN, Earl Miller & wife Margaret of Scalf, one sister Mattie Lee Frye of Pineville. She also leaves behind forty grandchildren, forty great grandchildren and a host of many other relatives and dear friends to mourn her passing. Funeral services for Mrs. Ruby Smith will be conducted on Sunday, June 29, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. A.B. Smallwood & Rev. Danny Little and Rev. Vernon Morris officiating. Pallbearers will be grandsons of Mrs. Smith. Honorary Pallbearers will be the staff of Professional Home Health, Pam Jackson, Knox Co. Hospital staff, Dr. West and caregivers Ethel Rose and Kim Smith. Mrs. Smith will be laid to rest in the Hammons Cemetery at Flat Lick, KY. with Hampton Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements.

Friends will be recieved at the Hampton Funeral Home Saturday eveing from 6-9 p.m.
