Mr. Roger Thornton, age 51 of Bryant Store, Barbourville, Ky. departed this life on Thursday, April 19, 2007 in the Oak Tree Hospital in Corbin, Ky.
He was the son of the late David Eugene Thorton and the late Stella Mae Russell Thorton born to them in Indiana on September 21, 1955. He was united in marriage to Barbara Gene Cassell and to this union 6 children were born. Mr. Thornton later married Sara Tackett. He spent the past several years with his companion Darlene McKinney. SURVIVORS INCLUDE: His companion: Darlene McKinney of Bryant Store Sons: Matthew Weddle and friend Beverly D. Brown of Barbourville, Ky. Tommie Weddle of Barbourville, KY. Elvis Weddle of Corbin, KY. Woodrow Weddle of Corbin, KY. Daughters: Patty Thornton and Tammy Thornton Brothers: John Thornton and wife Brenda of Bryants Store Jeffery Thornton of Lexington, KY. David Thornton of Lexington, KY. Aunts: Ola Steele and Samantha Lucille Carter Mr. Thornton also leaves behind one grandchild Edward Matthew Brown and one step-grandchild Angela Brown. Funeral Services for Mr. Thornton will be conducted on Monday-April 23, 2007 at 2 p.m. in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel . Pallbearers will be family and friends and burial will follow in the Ketchen Cemetery at Bryant Store. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
