Mr. Roger Dell McDonald age 62 of Barbourville, KY departed this life on Monday, October 9, 2017 in the Lake Cumberland Regional Medical Center in Somerset. He was the husband of Carolyn (Dean) McDonald and the son of Jess McDonald and Ethel Marie (Gray) McDonald born to them on August 21, 1955. He was a member of God’s Temple at Boone Height and had worked as an automobile detailer for Jones Motors. Roger loved attending car shows, riding his motorcycle but especially he loved being with his grandchildren and family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father, Jess McDonald, two grandchildren, Ashley Nicole and Taylor Michelle McDonald and his father in law, Ray Dean.

Left behind to mourn his passing his loving wife Carolyn McDonald of Barbourville, his son, Roger Dell McDonald, Jr. and wife Jennifer of Barbourville, his daughter, Jessica Raye Logan and husband Jerry of Gray , his mother Ethel Marie Gray, one brother, Michael McDonald and one sister, Christy Hamilton and husband Gary all of Barbourville, three grandchildren, Dalton Hunter McDonald and Morgan Faith Logan and Kaitlyn Hope McDonald, his mother in law, Myrtle Dean of Barbourville and a special niece, Autumn Paige Hamilton. He also leaves behind a host of many other nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

Funeral services for Mr. Roger McDonald will be conducted in the Cobb Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, October 13, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Ray Dean, Rev. Craig “Pete” Clark, Rev. Tim Spencer and Rev. Brenda Grubb officiating. Pallbearers will be, Gary Hamilton, Michael Jones, David Dean, Spencer Jones, Jerry Logan and Zachary Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be the doctors, nurses and staff of Lake Cumberland Regional Medical Center in Somerset. He will be laid to rest in the Barbourville Cemetery. Cobb Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.

Friends will be received at the Cobb Hampton Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
