Mr. Rickie Junior Partin age 60, passed away Sunday, June 6, 2010 in the VA Medical Center in Lexington. He was born on August 20, 1949 in Royal Oak Township, MI and was the son of Richard and Ruby (Lunsford) Partin.
He was a retired Veteran of the United States Air Force having served during the Vietnam and Cold War ERA. He believed in the Pentecostal faith. He loved fishing, woodworking, UK Basketball and spending time in Christian chat rooms.
He was preceded in death by his father Richard Partin.
Survivors include his mother Ruby Partin of Madison Heights, MI, one son, John William Partin and fiancé Amanda Taulbee of Richmond, KY, one daughter Gina Michele Carpenter and husband Jeffrey of Livingston, KY and four sisters, Bonnie Panczyk and husband Delbert of Harrison Township, MI , Shirley Schwenter and husband Richard of Harrison Township, MI, Linda Short and husband Harry of Sterling Heights, MI and Patricia Mason of Blairville, Georgia, two grandchildren Raymond and Misty Taulbee and his former wife Imogene Lawrence of Bimble. He is also survived by a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Rickie Junior Partin will be conducted on Thursday June 10, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Shelton, Rev. Ted Satterfield and Rev. Dwayne Carpenter officiating. Burial will follow in the Hammons Cemetery at Girdler. Pallbearers will be Billy Cain, Terry Gray, Larry Gray, Doug Wooton, Tyler Shields, Charlton Smith, Jeffrey Schwenter and Michael Short. Honorary Pallbearers will be Clyde Carpenter, Lloyd Burdine, all the Shields Family and the staff and veterans at Thompson Hood VA Center. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening at the Hampton Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 1:00 p.m.
