Rev. Whitley Jordan

Rev. Whitley Jordan age 79 of Boone Height, KY departed this life on Sunday, September 12, 2010 in the Mary Breckenridge Hospital in Hyden, KY. He was the husband of Marie (Smith) Jordan and the son of Paul and Axie Jordan born to them on March 18, 1931. He was a member of the Mills Creek Missionary Baptist Church and loved to discuss the Bible.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Axie Jordan, one son, Leeroy Jordan, one daughter Judy Jordan, three brothers, Golden Jordan, Taylor Jordan and Tom Jordan, one sister, Lola Smith.
Survivors include, his wife Marie Jordan of Boone Height, four sons, Whitley Jordan, Jr. and wife Carol of Turkey Creek, Paul Jordan of Zealand, Michigan, Cloyd Jordan of Holland, Michigan, Jerry Jordan and wife Joyce of Hinkle, KY, four daughters, Loretta Magee and husband Bill of Walker Park Rd, June Marie Brown and husband Robert of Boone Height, Janice Roark and husband Lester of London and Mary Lynn Honeycutt and husband Bill of Hinkle. He also leaves behind twenty six grandchildren, twenty nine great grandchildren along with a host of many other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services for Rev. Whitley Jordan will be conducted in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Danny Hembree and Rev. Ricky Broughton officiating. Pallbearers will be sons and uncles and honorary pallbearers will be sons in laws and the staff of Hyden Nursing Home. Burial will follow in the Callebs Creek Cemetery. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.
Friends will be received at the Hampton Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
