Reverend Clarence Robinson, age 92, of Barbourville, Kentucky, passed away Saturday morning at the ARH Hospital in Middlesboro, Kentucky. Clarence was born on August 28, 1920 in Knox County, Kentucky to the late Robert Franklin and Ellen Hicks Robinson. He was united in marriage to the late Dorothy Broughton Robinson on December 24th, 1945. Clarence was a WWII veteran and a Baptist Minister for 45 years. Clarence also drove a school bus for Knox County and loved hunting and fishing.
Clarence is survived by two daughters, Bonnie Jean Plemons and her husband Jimmy of Heidrick, and Deanna Smith of Lexington, one sister Etta Stacy of Girdler, six grandchildren, Marvin Lee Chadwell, Lisa Ann Chadwell Jones, Sharon Deaton, Sabrina Smith Williams, Virgil Lee Deaton Junior and his wife Shelia, and Tammy Chadwell Fuson and her husband Jerry. Fifteen great grandchildren, and nine great great grandchildren, Clarence is also survived by a special friend Bessie Yates.
Besides his parents and wife Clarence was preceded in death by one daughter Darlene Robinson Deaton, six brothers and three sisters, and one grandchild James Lee Deaton.
Funeral services for Clarence Robinson will be conducted at 2PM Wednesday at the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Gray and Arnold Petrey officiating. Burial will follow in the Hampton Cemetery at Girdler. The family of Clarence Robinson will receive friends from 5-9PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
