Mrs. Retha (Black) Castle age 86 of Berea, departed this life on Friday, October 13, 2017 at her home. She was the widow of Robert Castle and was born in Himyar, KY on June 16, 1931 the daughter of Jess and Martha (Lockard) Black. Retha believed in the Baptist Faith and she enjoyed quilting, cooking, playing cards and slot machines.
She is preceded in death by her husband Robert and her parents along with two daughters, Judy Black and Carolyn Clinton, two brothers, Henry Ed Black and Jimmy Black , one sister, Jewelette Castle and two grandsons, David and Jesse. and one great grandson Hector, Jr.
Left behind to mourn her passing, one son, Ronnie Castle and wife Gloria of Berea, three daughters, Brenda Ingram and husband Jeffery and Helen Ryon all of Berea and Frances Esch and husband Robert of Grand Bay, Alabama, one brother, Ernest Black and wife Quillie of Flat Lick, three sisters, Jennie Hurst of Berea, Audrey Marie Jordan of Flat Lick and Nora Lee Lawson and husband Shirley of Pineville, eleven grandchildren, Terri, Steven, Jennifer, Robert, Hector, Lisa, Joe, Tammy Angel, Tracy and Mya, twenty-seven great grandchildren, Matthew, Brian, Nicole, Christopher, Danyelle, Felicia, Tiffany, Alyssia, Emily, Conner, Jonoveh, Sadie, Aleah, Lydia, Madison, Daniel, Cassidy, DiAngre, Dylan, Alexis, Ellie, Jacob, Avery, Bailey, Caleb and Samantha, eleven great-great grandchildren, Mason, Jolie, Jaylin, Jordyn, Makayla, Ailynn, Uryiah, Autumn, Caleb, Bodie and Nevah. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral services for Mrs. Retha Castle will be conducted in the Cobb Hampton Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Gary Hill officiating. Pallbearers will be Tracy Hall, Kenny Jackson, Joe Reed, Wes Hurst, DiAngre Chico, and James Lawson. Burial will follow in the Farley Cemetery. Cobb Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.
Friends will be received at the Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home on Monday evening from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 1:00.
