. She was a member of the Church of God at Girdler, Ky. On July 23, 1927, she united in marriage with Arthur Smith and to this union ten children were born. Preceding her in death is her husband, Arthur Smith, her parents, George Tipton and Mary Ann Childers, four sons, Earl Dean Smith, Harold Smith, John H. Smith and Burchell Smith, one brother, John J. Smith and five grandchildren.

Three sons: Billy Smith and wife Annette of Bimble, Ky., Lewis Smith and wife Mossie of Girdler, Ky. and Melvin Smith and wife Loretta of Girdler, Ky., three daughters, Artie Mae Stacy and husband Rev. John c. Stacy of Scottsburg, Indiana, Alta Grubb of Big Rapids, Michigan and Thelma Merida and husband Curtis of Bimble, Ky., thirty-one grandchildren, thirty-seven great grandchildren, sixteen great-great grandchildren, two sisters, Mae Trosper and husband Bill of Inkster, Michigan and Shirley Smith of Detroit, Michigan, one brother, James Smith of Detroit, Michigan, one step sister, Irine Lee of Girdler, Ky., four step brothers, Lester Smith and Cecil Smith both of Detroit, Michigan, Creed Smith of Girdler, Ky. and Leonard Smith and wife Mazeline of Bailey Switch, Ky. Mrs. Smith also leaves behind a host of many other relatives and dear friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral services for Mrs. Reathy Smith will be conducted on Friday, March 23, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Owen Smith, Rev. John C. Stacy and Rev. Ken Merida officiating. Pallbearers will be Grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be family, friends and neighbors. Burial will be in the Hampton Cemetery at Girdler, Ky. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
