Mr. Ralph Hudson age 68 of Heidrick, KY departed this life on Monday, August 27, 2012 at his home. He was born on August 6, 1944 in Knox Co., KY, the son of Pharris Maurice Hudson and Viola Jane (Martin) Hudson. On November 30, 1963 he united in marriage with Margaret oyce Morris and to this union four children were born. Mr. Hudson was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church in Corbin and served as deacon at Sinking Valley Baptist Church for thirty seven years. He was a retired Coal Miner and a former employee of Campbell Motors. He loved gardening, painting and being with his family.
Ralph was preceded in death by his daughter, Sandra Asher, his parents, Pharris and Viola Hudson, three brothers, Pharris Hudson, Jr., Tip Hudson and Lewis Hudson, six sisters, Irene Craft, Nell Blair, Grace Newman, Irene Gibson, Betty Corey, Wanda Brown, his grandmother Mildred Martin, a great granddaughter Teagan Jackson, an aunt, Ruth Lay and his mother and father in law, Carl & Georgia Morris.
Left behind to mourn his passing is his wife of forty nine years MargaretJoyce Hudson of Heidrick, one son Donnie Wayne Hudson and wife Tammy of Barbourville, two daughters, Carlene Mills and husband Allen Mills of Heidrick and Melinna Jordan and husband Darrell of London, one brother, Willie Hudson and wife Tressie of Heidrick, eight grandchildren, Joseph, Joshua, Kaitlin, Kiara, Kennedy, Dustyn, Terry and Candy, two great grandchildren, Bricen and Taytum, brothers and sisters in law, Clyde Corey, Gene and Linda Morris, Vernon and Joyce Morris, Donnie and Kathy Morris and Barb and Doyle Trent. He also leaves behind a host of many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services for Mr. Ralph Hudson will be conducted at the Oak Grove Baptist Church , 758 Oak Grove Church Road , Corbin, KY on Friday, August 31, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Vernon Morris, Rev. Justin Morris, Rev. Sylvester Dunn, Rev. Herman Hudson, Rev. Clifford Morris and Rev. Allen Mills officiating. Pallbearers will be, Terry France, Steve Smith, Waylon Corey, Darrell Smith, Stacey Abner, E.G. Abner, Wayne Abner, Jamie Overbay and Kenny Abner. Honorary pallbearers will be, Methodist Mtn. Mission and Experience Works employees, Dr. Raju Vora, Dr. Francis Domurat, Hinkle Contractors, Hospice of the Bluegrass, Barb Liford, Felix Hale, Rev. James Isom and special friends, Debbie Collett, Bee & Helen Abner, Tisha & Donna and all the Trace Branch Community friends. Burial will follow in the Morris Cemetery at Heidrick. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
Friends will be received at the Hampton Funeral Home on Thursday evening after 6:00 p.m. and on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
