Ralph Sterling Doolin

Mr. Ralph Sterling Doolin age 79 of Heidrick, Ky departed this life on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 in the Knox Co. Hospital. He was the husband of Mary (Abner) Doolin and the son of James and Arizona (Lundy) Doolin born to them on June 21, 1932 in Knox Co. Mr. Doolin was a member of the Heidrick Holiness Church. He was also a plumber who had worked for fifteen years with Harlan Heating & Plumbing before retiring in 1995.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James & Arizona Doolin, a sister Florence Hembree, brothers, Larry Doolin and Herman Doolin, his mother and father in law, Sam & Martha Abner, son in law Frankie Root, brothers and sisters in law, Frank Brock, Harold Payne, Argie Burnette, Jeannette Doolin, Opal Doolin, Ann Abner, Bill & Ollie Lyttle, Ott and Dorothy Lawson, Homer & Estileen Abner, Lester and Elsie Abner and Earl Smith.
He is survived by his loving wife of sixty one years, Mary Doolin of Heidrick, KY , his daughter Jackie Root of Girdler, his sons, Frankie Doolin and wife Bobbie of Heidrick, Mike Doolin and wife Kopie of Girdler and Kevin Doolin and wife Kathy of Heidrick, his grandchildren, Preshus Howard and husband Billy of Heidrick, Michael Doolin and fiance' Kendra Smith of Barbourville, Ashley Doolin and fiance' George Messer of Bimble, Nicole Partin and husband Scott of Barbourville, Todd Doolin, Jacob Doolin, Dakota Doolin ,Brittney Doolin, Amber Johnson of Girdler, Melanie Jackson and husband Todd of Barbourville, his great grandchildren, Raegan Howard and Abby Jackson. A brother, Terry Doolin and wife Mary Etta of Jarvis, sisters Roetta Brock of Blue Ash, Ohio, Aileen Payne of Mt. Carmel, Ohio, June Pickard and husband Don of Barbourville, Helen Abner and husband Bee , Anna Burnette and Debbie Soper and husband Richard all of Heidrick and Shirley Doolin of North Carolina, he also leaves behind a sister in law Jean Smith of London. He also leaves behind a host of many other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services for Mr. Sterling Doolin will be conducted in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, June 21, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Tedd Satterfield and Rev. Tommy Frazier officiating. Pallbearers will be Grandsons & Nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be all family & friends. Mr. Doolin will be laid to rest in the Doolin Cemetery at Heidrick. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.

Friends will be received at the Hampton Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
