Rachel Lewis Sanders

Mrs. Rachel Lewis Sanders, age 97 of Corbin, Kentucky passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at her home.  She was born on March 1, 1920 in Leslie County, Kentucky, to the late Felix and Rebecca Lewis.  Rachel loved Jesus, her family, reading her Bible daily, gospel music and raising flowers.

She is preceded in death by parents, Felix and Rebecca Lewis, her husband Vester Sanders, daughters Faye Schlack and Thelma Partin and her granddaughter Tina Marie Jones.

Left behind to mourn her passing are sons Ronald Sanders and his wife Mary (Corbin, Kentucky), Ernest Sanders and his wife Rose (Trenton, Michigan), daughters Carolyn Jackson and her husband Ernest (Corbin, Kentucky), Edith Hackworth and her husband Henry (Prestonsburg, Kentucky) and Vickie Marsee (Barbourville, Kentucky), thirteen grandchildren and twenty seven great grandchildren.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Rachel Lewis Sanders will be conducted on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. in the Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home Chapel.  She will be laid to rest in the Barbourville Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great grandsons.

Friends will be received at the Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home on Monday evening January 22, 2018 from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.

Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.
