Mr. Phillip Derrick Goodwin age 43 of Ypsilanti, Michigan departed this life on Sunday, October 11, 2015 at his home. He was the son of James Kenneth Goodwin and Bertha McDonald Goodwin born to them on November 15, 1971 in Louisville, KY. He was the husband of Tatiana Goodwin and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Trenton, Michigan. Phillip worked for HCL Corporation where he was an IT Tech. He played guitar, loved to hunt and fish and had been a first responder fire fighter for a while. He was a man of many talents and continuously studied to further his education.
He is survived by his wife Tatiana Goodwin of Ypsilanti, Michigan, his parents, James Kenneth and Faye Goodwin, one son, Lee Tyler Goodwin of Allen Park, Michigan, two daughters, Taylor Michele Goodwin of Allen Park, Michigan and Emily Rhiannon Riley of Ypsilanti, Michigan, three brothers, James Arthur Goodwin, Sean Adkins of Knoxville, TN and Larry Lee Powell-Franklin of Louisville, KY, one sister, Zella Melissa Grimes and husband Darrell of Elizabethtown. He also leaves behind a host of many other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services for Mr. Phillip Derrick Goodwin will be conducted in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Fred Disney officiating. Pallbearers will be, Sean Adkins, James Stuckey, David Mellick and Gene Stuckey. Honorary pallbearers are Christopher Riley, Edward Benet, Jeremy and Patrick Dillard and Lee Tyler Goodwin. He will be laid to rest in the Barbourville Cemetery. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.

Friends will be received in the Hampton Funeral Home on Friday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 1:00 p.m.
