Ms. Virginia Pearl Mills, age 67 of Barbourville departed this life on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 in the Baptist Health Hospital in Lexington. She was the daughter of James & Mary Lee Mills born to them on April 29, 1946 in Knox Co. Pearl was a member of the Cole's Branch Baptist Church and was a homemaker.
She is preceded in death by her parents, James & Mary Lee Mills, four brothers, J.T. Mills, Herbert Mills, Lester Mills and Lark Mills and three sisters, Cleda Jordan, Estill Hammons and Ruby Sizemore.
Survivors include three sisters, Beulah Hubbard of Boone Height, Sally Smith and husband R.J. of Greenroad and Altie Baker of Jarvis along with many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral services for Virginia Pearl Baker will be conducted on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Kennon Roark officiating. Pallbearers will be James Gray, Travis Hubbard, Chase Hubbard, Dakota Doolin, Michael Doolin and Matt Mills. Honorary pallbearers will be David Baker, Darrell Baker, Bruce Mills, Ronnie Hubbard Clyde Mills, Jr., Ricky Smith, Mark Mills, Ronnie Mills, Leamon Jordan and Robert Cooper. Pearl will be laid to rest in the Obie Mills Cemetery at Mills Creek. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the Hampton Funeral Home on Friday evening
from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Saturday until the hour of service at 11:00 a.m.
