Opal Mae Townsley

Mrs. Opal Mae Townsley age 86 of Girdler, KY departed this life on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 in the Knox Co. Hospital. She was the widow of Colonel Townsley and the daughter of Frank & Lula (Woods) Beddow born to them on January 1, 1928 in Knox Co.
She is preceded in death by her parents and husband , one son Larry Townsley and one brother, Arthur Beddow and one sister Marcella Hammons.
Survivors include her two sons, Gary Townsley of Girdler and Johnny Townsleyand wife Jeanette of Hinkle and one sister, Cora Phipps and husband Carlus of Calabash, North Carolina, eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Mrs. Townsley also leaves behind a host of many other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral services for Mrs. Opal Townsley will be conducted on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dewayne Smith and Rev. Steven Honeycutt officiating. Pallbearers will be friends & neighbors. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. West, Dr. Warren, Dr. Hayes and Knox Co. Home Health staff. Burial will follow in the Barbourville Cemetery. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.
Friends will be received at the Hampton Funeral Home on Friday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
