Mr. Obie Brown age 56 of Scalf, KY passed away on Monday - May 14, 2012 at his home. He was the son of the late Dow & Pearlie Brown of Knox County born to them on December 26, 1955.
Obie was a member of the Bethesda Baptist Church, and enjoyed his friends and family.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by an infant baby brother, and Brothers Evie Brown, General Brown, and Richard Brown, three sisters Evelyn Brown, Viola Brown, and Mary Elizabeth Brown, one grandchild Lea Beth Brown.
Left behind to mourn his passing is his wife Penny, four sons Troy Brown & wife Dena, of Scalf, Shawn Brown & wife Misty of Gray, , Brandon Brown & wife Tia , and Nicolas Brown & Kayla both of Scalf,. One daughter Stephanie & husband Chris Witt of Scalf, , and Seven brothers Ernest Brown & wife Susie, of Scalf, Virgil Brown & wife Janice, of Fourmile, Roger Brown, Dow Brown Jr, & Litha, Johnny Brown & wife Peggy, Gene Brown & wife Sue, and Garrett Brown all of Scalf. Three sisters Margaret Miller & husband Earl, and Martha Grubb & & husband Tommy all of Scalf, and Rosie Brown of Barbourville, plus Five Grandchildren and a host of many other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services for Obie Brown will be conducted on Friday - May 18th, 2012 @ 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Roy Vaughn & Rev. Leroy Warren officiating. Pallbearers will be family & friends. Burial will follow in the Browns Branch Cemetery. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.In lieu of Flowers all donations can be made to the Hampton Funeral Home.
