Mr. Oakley Smallwood, Jr age 49 of Barbourville, KY departed this life on Thursday – June 11th, 2009 in the St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, KY. He was the husband of Pauline (Gray) Smallwood and the son of Oakley & Amanda (Garland) Smallwood born to them on July 16th, 1959.
Mr. Smallwood was a Auto Detailer and was of the Holiness faith, and enjoyed fishing, drawing, making gospel CD’s for his friends, and talking on the CB – he was know as SugarDaddy.
He was preceded in death by his three brothers Sammie, Wesley, and Otis Smallwood and his Mother & Father in-law Eugene & Georgia Gray.
Left behind to mourn his passing is his wife Pauline Smallwood of Barbourville, KY, his parent’s Oakley & Amanda Smallwood of Barbourville, KY, one son Charles Bishop & Jackie “peach” Smallwood of Cannon, KY, one daughter Elizabeth Castle & husband Billy of Barbourville, KY, five sisters Sherry Gray & husband Johnny of London, KY, Darlene Bingham & husband Marvin of Barbourville, KY, Barbara Smith & husband Tim of Barbourville, KY, Sharon Wells & husband Steve of Corbin, KY, and Rosella Jones & husband Kenny of Woodbine, KY, four Grandchildren Cameron Bishop Smallwood, Gavin Hunter Castle, Isabella Grace Smallwood, and Malachi Brian Allen Castle. Plus a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services for Mr. Oakley Smallwood, Jr will be in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel, on Sunday – June 14th, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Ray Dean, Rev. Mark Gilbert and Dr. Bobby D Lawson officiating. Pallbearers will be Charles Smallwood, Billy Castle, Tim Smith, Chris Gray, Ernie Gray, Shad Hearld, Rocky Cody Evans, Robert Evans, Joey Jones and Shawn Jones. Honorary Pallbearers are the Artemus Fire Dept., Ronald Paul, Professional Home Health Care, Dr. Vora, Dr. Hassni, Knox County ICU, Staff of St. Joseph Hospital. Burial will follow in the Barbourville Cemetery. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
Friends will be received at the Hampton Funeral Home on Saturday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of 2:00 p.m.
