Mr. Nevil Smith age 66 of Flat Lick, KY departed this life on Sunday, August 1st, 2010. He was the son of Lloyd & Ruby (Bargo) Smith born to them on October 21st, 1943 in Knox County.
Mr. Smith was a former employee of Marshall Lumber & E.K. Woods. He believed in the Pentecostal faith. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening.
He is preceded in death by his parents Lloyd & Ruby Smith, two daughters Paula Messer, and Linda Smith, and two brothers Arvil Smith & Joe Smith, a sister-in-law Nina Smith, , 3 Grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild.
Left behind to mourn his passing is his first wife Lydia Smith, and his second wife Nadine Smith, three sons Tony Smith & Patsy of Artemus, KY, Nevil Grubb & wife Latasha of Booneheight, KY, and David Smith and wife Amber of Grays, KY. Four daughters Tammie Grubb & Dewayne Messer of Barbourville, KY, Tina Jackson of Gray, KY, Angela Hale & husband Alvie of Artemus, KY, and Lisa Messer and husband Curtis of Flat Lick, KY. Six brothers Coronel Smith & wife Doris Jean of Flat Lick, KY, L.C. Smith & wife Doris of Bimble, KY, Rev. Harold Jean Smith & wife Irene of Flat Lick, KY, Don Smith & wife Barb of Flat Lick, KY, Homer Smith of River rouge, Michigan. Five Sisters Verdia Hughes of Lexington, KY, Pamela Bright of Barbourville, KY, Vivian Smith & husband John of Flat Lick, KY, Freda Mills & husband Clifford of Scalf, KY, and Reba Hensley & David of Bimble, KY. Twenty one grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Plus a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services for Mr. Nevil Smith will be conducted on Wednesday, August 4th, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Smith & Rev. Herman Mills officiating. Pallbearers will be family & friends. Honorary pallbearers are Ken Messer, James Albert Messer, Denver Mills, and Goblie Jr. Mills. Burial will follow in the Henry Mills Cemetery. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.
Visitation will be on Tuesday evening from 6:30 until 9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 11:00 a.m.
