Mrs. Neva Russ, Age 81 of Heidrick, KY departed this life on Friday, September 14, 2012, in the Barbourville Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was the widow of Edward Russ, and the daughter of Joe and Myrtle Newman. She was born in Knox County, KY on July 9, 1931. She was a member of the Heidrick Holiness Church.
Mrs. Russ was preceded in death by her parents Joe and Myrtle Newman, her husband Edward Russ, two sons, Jerry Dean Russ and Curtis Dale Russ, three sisters, Joan Greene, Edith Millians, Ruth Baird, and one brother, Carl Newman.
Left behind to mourn her passing are her three sons, David Russ and wife Debbie, Barbourville, KY, Ricky Russ and wife Rhonda, Heidrick, KY, Lonnie Russ and wife Jennifer, Heidrick, KY, and one daughter Jeannie Ann Russ Bays and husband Jerry, Barbourville. KY., one sister Mariah Douglas, Barbourville, KY, four grandchildren, Dayna Russ Rogers and husband Greg, Cindy Russ, Brandon Russ, and Justin Bays, and two great grandchildren, Brittany Russ and Kristen Hamilton. Mrs. Russ also leaves behind a host of many other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral services for Mrs. Neva Russ will be conducted in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, September 17, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Mike Collins and Rev. Tommy Frazier officiating. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary Pallbearers will be Barbourville Nursing Home and Hospice of Bluegrass. Mrs. Russ will be laid to rest in the Doolin Cemetery at Heidrick. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.
Friends will be received at the Hampton Funeral Home on Sunday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
