Myrtle Barrett

Ms. Myrtle Barrett, age 67 of Barbourville, Ky. departed this life on Wednesday, July 25, 2007 in the Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington. She was the daughter of the late Jeff Mills and the late Ellen Smith Mills born to them on March 17, 1940 in Knox County, Kentucky. Ms. Barrett was a member of the Springfield Baptist Church.
Ms. Barrett was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters Ezzabelle “Bea” Stewart and Charity Smith; and four brothers Roy, Delmer, Earl and Golden Mills. Survivors include: two daughters Lee Ann Brown of Barbourville, KY and Bonnie Lynn Baker and husband Jerry of Artemus, KY; two sons David Wayne Burton and wife Jewell Dean of Cannon and Jason Edward Burton and wife Judy of Barbourville, KY; one sister Chelsie Kelly and husband Frank of Barbourville, KY. Ms. Barrett also leaves behind 15 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren to mourn her passing. Funeral services for Ms. Barrett will be conducted on Saturday-July 28, 2007 at 11 a.m. in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Owen Smith officiating. Pallbearers will be Ms. Barrett’s nephews and honorary pallbearers will be friends and family. Burial will follow in the Hammons Cemetery at Girdler, KY. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
