Mr. Morris C Fisher age 78 of Barbourville, KY born February 14, 1932, in Knox County, KY, departed this life on Saturday – February 5th, 2011 in the V A Hospital in Lexington, KY, Morris was a member & Deacon of the Sinking Valley Church at Cannon, KY.

Morris was a veteran of the Korean War, and former store owner and former Forman at different coal mines. Morris was united in marriage On June 30th, 1951 to Pauletta (Messer) Fisher and to this union seven children were born. Along with his parents, Morris was preceded in death by one brother Randall Fisher and two sisters Geneva Hinkle and Joyce Overbay Callihan, and one grandson Christopher Fisher.

Survivors include his wife Pauletta Fisher of Barbourville, KY, five sons James Earl Fisher & friend Jessica of Putney, KY, Wayne (Fish) Fisher & wife Donna of Heidrick, KY, Randall Dwight Fisher & Pat of Jeffersonville, KY, Gerald Fisher & wife Beth of Heidrick, KY, David Fisher & wife Janet of Bimble, KY, two daughters Margaret Jackson & husband Junior of Cannon, KY, and Diana Gray & Husband Gary of Heidrick, KY, three brothers Marvin Fisher & wife Colleen and Joe Doug Fisher & wife Cledia both of Heidrick, KY, and Russell David Fisher & wife Helen of Dearborn Heights, Michigian. One sister Shirley Campbell & husband Paul of Fortsville, Ind. Seventeen Grandchildren, and 10 Great Grandchildren, and 2 Great Great Grandchildren. Plus a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

Funeral services for Mr. Morris C Fisher will be conducted at the Sinking Valley Church at Cannon, KY on Tuesday – February 8th, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Johnny Fisher, Rev. Vernon Morris and Rev. Terry Broughton officiating. Burial will follow in the Fisher Cemetery with Deacons of Sinking Valley Church serving as pallbears. Honorary Pallbearers are Doctors & staff of the V A Hospital in Lexington, KY, Knox county Hospital, members of the Sinking Valley Church, and friends and neighbors. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangments.

The family will receive friends at the Hampton Funeral Home on Monday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Tuesday at the Church from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
