Mrs. Michelle R. Cook, age 37 of Barbourville, Ky. departed this life on Saturday March 29, 2008 in the Knox County Hospital. She was the wife Averill Cook and the daughter of Robbie Gilbert, Sr. and Brenda (Grubb) Gilbert born to them on January 15, 1971 in Newport, KY. Mrs. Cook loved to take care of her children, especially spoiling her grandchildren, she also loved to keep the house clean and take care of her dogs. She is preceded in death by her mother, Brenda Gilbert and one sister, Mary Renee’ Woodall.
Survivors include her husband Averill Cook of Barbourville, KY, two sons, Steven Cook of Alexandria, KY and William Michael Oliver of Barbourville, three daughters, Lisa Cook of Barbourville, KY, Ashley Cook of Milford, Ohio and Mariah Cook also of Milford, Ohio, her father Robbie Gilbert, Sr. and one brother, Robbie Gilbert, Jr. of London, KY . Funeral services for Mrs. Michelle Cook will be conducted on Friday April 4, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. with Dr. Bobby Lawson officiating. Pallbearers will be William “Billy” Elkins, Jeff Dierken, Steven Cook, Matt Taylor, Jim Baker and Joey Hines. Burial will be in the Brown Mission Cemetery at Laurel Creek in Clay Co. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements. The family will receive friends on Friday at the Hampton Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 1:00 p.m.
