Mr. M.C. Stewart age 73 of Acorn Fork departed this life on Tuesday, February 16, 2010 in the Oak Tree Hospital in Corbin. He was born on October 29, 1936 in Knox County to Jeff and Reanie Grubb Stewart . He was retired from Ford Motor Company where he worked for 30 Years. He was a member of the Salem Baptist Church, he loved to do mechanic work, fish, hunt and spend time with family especially Jake.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jeff & Reanie Stewart, one daughter Retha Carol Brown, four brothers, William, Albert and Vernon Jackson and Lonzo Stewart, one sister Gelema Slusher and one nephew Stanley Slusher.
Survivors include one son Zendle Stewart and fiance’ Lori of Dearborn Heights, MI, two daughters Imogene Neal and husband Tony of Garden City, MI and Reanie Bonfield and husband Gary of Belleville, MI, one brother Cecil Stewart of Acorn Fork and one sister Myrtle Warren of Southgate, MI and a special brother in law O.V. Slusher, eight grandchildren Raymond Stewart and wife Donna, Amanda Mills and husband Jimmy, Ryan Bonfield, Jeffery Stewart, Marshall Messer, Joseph Brown, Steven Brown and Erin Brown and one great grandchild Jake Ryan Stewart. He also leaves behind a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral servicers for M.C. Stewart will be conducted on Saturday, February 20, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Salem Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Smith, Rev. Bobby Abner and Rev. Teddy Collins officiating. Burial will follow in the Davis Cemetery at Acorn Fork with Josh Collins, Aaron Collins, Randall Slusher, Gary Bonfield, Tony Neal and Wesley Roark serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Billy Stewart and Ronnie Stewart. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
The family of Mr. Stewart will receive friends on Thursday evening at the Hampton Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.
Friends will be received at the Salem Baptist Church on Saturday from 12:00 noon until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
