Mr. Matt Lockard, Jr. age 83 of Culton Hill, Flat Lick, KY passed away Tuesday morning November 20, 2007 in the Knox Co. Hospital. He was the son of Matt Lockard, Sr. and Nannie (Lawson) Lockard born to them on August 20, 1924 in Knox Co. Mr. Lockard believed in the Baptist faith; he was a miner and a farmer and loved gardening. He is preceded in death by his parents, Matt and Nannie Lockard, four brothers, Henry, Bill, Dave, and George Hyatt and five sisters, Susie Lockhart, Martha Black, Betsy Black, Emily Baker and Josie Bryant. He leaves behind his niece Anna Faye Hodge of Flat Lick, Ky. along with a host of other nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services for Mr. Matt Lockard, Jr. will be conducted on Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Orangie Wheat officiating. Friends will be received at the Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. until the hour of service at 7:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be family & friends. Honorary Pallbearers will be the nurses and staff of the Knox Co. Hospital Long Term Care Unit. Burial will be in the Farley Cemetery at Himyar at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday morning. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
