Marvin Gray

Mr. Marvin Gray age 81 of Barbourville, was born on April 27th, 1930, in Knox County., He was the son of the late Calaway & Sudie Ann (Smith) Gray. Mr. Gray died Friday, May 13th, 2011 at the Knox County Hospital.
Marvin was a former coal miner and was a member of the Faith Tabernacle Church. On June 25th, 1960, he united in marriage to Irene Messer and to this union three children were born.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his father-&-mother-in-law,Charlie & Mealie Messer, four brothers Elb Gray, Evie Gray, Tom Gray, and Gene Gray, four sisters Laura Gray, Winnie Jones, Georgie Gray, and Katherine Gray.
Marvin is survived by his wife Irene Gray of Barbourville, KY, his daughter Margaret Hensley & husband David of Barbourville, KY, his two sons Bobby Gray & wife Sherry of Corbin, KY, and Gary Gray & wife Karen of Barbourville, KY, one sister Gladys Craft of Nights town, Indiana, six grandchildren Donnie Gray, Tyler Gray, Lindsay Gray, Brad Gray, Samuel Gray, and David Gray. Plus a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services for Mr. Gray will be conducted on Monday, May 16th, 2011 @ 2:00 p.m. in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Phillip Wynn & Rev. Gary Miles officiating. Pallbearers will be family & friends. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Vora & staff of the ICU and nurses Tonya Harris and Shelia. Burial will follow in the Barbourville Cemetery. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the Hampton Funeral Home on Sunday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00p.m.
