Mrs. Marie (Baker) Smith age 70 of Dewitt, KY departed this life on Thursday, September, 123, 2012 in the Knox Co. Hospital. She was the wife of Herbert Joe Smith and the daughter of John and Nannie Baker. She was born in Knox Co., KY on September 22, 1941. She was a member of the Union Mission Baptist Church and was a homemaker.
She is preceded in death by her parents John & Nannie Baker, one son, Herbert Joseph Smith, two daughters, Donna & Kathleen Smith, three brothers, Bert Baker, Everett Baker and Dempsey Helton and two sisters, Phyllis Smith and Mary Russeau.
Left behind to mourn her passing is her husband, Joe Smith of Dewitt, two daughters, Sandie Gray and husband Doyle of Dewitt and Jessica Smith of Barbourville, one son Jessie Smith of Dewitt, one grandchild, Nicholas Gray of Dewitt and two sisters, Betty Mills and husband Raymond and Lois Swafford and husband Denver all of Dewitt. Mrs. Smith also leaves behind a host of many other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral services for Mrs. Marie Smith will be conducted in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, September 16, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be family & friends. Mrs. Smith will be laid to rest in the Williamson Cemetery at Dewitt. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.
Friends will be received at the Hampton Funeral Home on Saturday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
