Mrs. Marie Harris age 74 of Rutledge, TN departed this life on Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at her home. She was the wife of Robert Harris and the daughter of Frank Messer and Elizabeth Knuckles Messer born to them on September 11, 1934 in Knox Co., KY. Mrs. Harris was a member of the Russellville Church of God. She was a homemaker and loved to sew and quilt. Mrs. Harris is preceded in death by her parents Frank & Elizabeth Messer, four brothers, Lawson Messer, George Messer, Oples Messer and Walter Messer, two sisters Sally Sizemore & Lodas Stacey and one brother in law, George Jones.
Those left behind to mourn her passing include her husband Robert Harris of Rutledge, TN, her daughter Wanda Dine and husband Ted of Rutledge, TN, one brother, Bobby Messer and wife Gladys of Flat Lick, KY and one sister, Gladys Messer of Flat Lick, KY, three grandchildren, Kristina Dine and Teddy Dine both of Rutledge, TN and Riley Hill of Erlanger, KY , brothers and sisters-in-law Lawrence & Wilana Harris of Jonesville, KY, Johnnie & Dottie Myers of Lexington, KY, Juanita and Don Knutson of Louisiana, a special niece Annie Cupp of Rutledge, TN and many other nieces, nepews and other relatives and friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Marie Harris will be conducted in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, October 17, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor William Gardner officiating. Pallbearers will be family & friends of Mrs. Harris. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery at Flat Lick, KY. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 11:00 a.m.
