Mrs. Lydia Pearl Jarvis age 62 of Woolum, KY passed away on Monday – April 13, 2009 at the Machester Memorial Hospital due to an automobile accident. She was the wife of Kenneth Jarvis and the daughter of the Lewis and Hazel (Lawson) Abner born to them on September 14, 1946 in Knox County.
Lydia was a homemaker and she loved to sew & read and play with her grandchildren. She was also a member of the Antioch Baptist Church.
Her parents, Lewis and Hazel Abner and one sister Ada Hendrix preceded her in death.
Left behind mourn her passing, her husband Kenneth Jarvis of Woolum, two sons George Jarvis & wife Louvann of Manchester, KY, Kenny Jarvis & wife Misty of Woolum, KY, one daughter Alice Spurlock & husband Glenn of Woolum, KY, four brothers Charles Abner & wife Darlene of Lily, KY, Bill Abner and fiance Carlene Mills of Woolum, Carl Wayne Abner and wife Audrey of Barbourville, KY, Clyde Ray Abner and wife Phyllis of Evarts,KY, three sisters Bonnie Jane Hendrix & husband Benny of Ages, KY, Judy Faye Asher & husband Robert of Manchester, KY, and Janice Jo Jenkins of Barbourville, KY. Seven Grandchildren Peyton Spurlock, Heather & Michelle Spurlock, Kristina, Bridgett, Madison, Mackenzie, and Cameron Jarvis. A special nephew Conley Glenn & wife Patricia of Manchester, KY, and a special great Nephew James Glenn. Mrs. Jarvis also leaves behind a host of many other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral services for Mrs. Jarvis will be conducted on Friday – April 17, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at the Antioch Baptist Church with the Rev. Mann Cobb and Rev. Scott Hammons officiating. Pallbearers will be, Tommy Hendrix Dennis Hendrix, Daniel Asher, Jerry Abner, Joseph Huges, and Paul Jarvis. Honorary pallbearer is James Jarvis. Mrs. Jarvis will be laid to rest in the Betty Frost Cemetery at Woolum, KY. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.
Friends may call at the Antioch Baptist Church from 6:00 p.m. Wednesday evening until the hour of service at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
