Mrs. Lucy Miller age 80 of Davis Bend, the widow of the late Wiley Miller finished her duties on earth on Sunday, May 24, 2015 and went to be with her Lord and to be reunited with her family and friends whom had gone before her. She was born on August 15, 1934 in Bell Co., KY and was the daughter of Florence Bays and William Babbs. She has been a member of the Davis Bend Baptist Church since 1947. She loved her flowers and gardening, traveling anywhere and loved to go boating with her family when she was able.
She is preceded in death by her parents and husband a sister Mossie Sizemore, her brothers, Robert Babbs and Leonard Reynolds and a son in law, Carl Altman.
Survivors include her children, a daughter, LouDella Altman of Corbin and her son, Pete Miller of Barbourville, a daughter in law, Georgia Miller, two grandchildren, Kristy and husband Chris Powers and Jason Miller and wife Teresa , two great grandchildren, Olivia Powers and Cara Miller all of Barbourville, one sister, Sarah Cook of Texas. She also leaves behind a host of many other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral services for Mrs. Miller will be conducted in the Davis Bend Baptist Church on Friday at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Trey Evan, Rev. Mark Hunter, Rev. Junior Kelly and Rev. Jimmy Miller officiating. Pallbearers will be Jason Miller, Chris Powers, Tom Scalf, Jacob Scalf, William Babbs, Dennis Miller and Shelby Miller. Honorary pallbearers will be, Jim Coffey, Leland Cunningham, Ross McCardle and Junior Gibson. Burial will follow in the Miller Cemetery at Davis Bend. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.

Friends will be received at the Hampton Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 6-9 p.m. and at the Davis Bend Baptist Church on Friday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 1:00 p.m.

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Davis Bend Baptist Church Building Fund, 375 Hooker Branch Rd., Barbourville, KY 40906.

The family would also like to thank Dr. Richard Carter and Staff, Knox Co. Home Health, Tri-Co. Hospice and her special caregivers, Angie, Darla, Darlene, Karen and Susie for all their care and support.
