Mrs. Lucy Hubbard age 76 of Artemus Ky, departed this life on Friday, January 25, 2008 in the Long Term Facility at Barbourville Hospital. She was born on April 1st, 1929 in Clay Co. to Collin and Minnie (Smith) Jackson. Mrs. Hubbard believed in the Baptist faith. She enjoyed quilting, and being outside and working on the farm. She is preceded in death by one brother Campell Smith, one sister Haley Smith. and two daughters Linda Hubbard & Kathleen Hubbard.
Survivors include, her husband William “Bill” Hubbard of Artemus, Ky., four sons Burchell Hubbard and wife Ruah, Dewey Hubbard & wife Nequetta, Bill Hubbard, Jr. all of Artemus, and Michael Hubbard of Dewitt, seven daughters Irene Gray & husband Charlie of Himyar, Selda Ray Tuttle & husband Sam of Davis Bend, Hazel Hobbs & husband J.D. of Flat Lick, Thelma Black of Himyar, Lula Gambrel & husband David of Artemus, Emma Gray & husband Roy of Flat Lick and Roberta Gray & husband Herman of 229, one sister Hazel Smith and 29 Grandchildren and 34 Great Grandchildren. Mrs. Hubbard also leaves behind a host of many other relatives and friends to mourn her passing. Funeral Services for Mrs. Lucy Hubbard will be the conducted on Tuesday – January 29, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Charles Bright officiating. Pallbearers will be Grandsons & Great Grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of the Long Term Care Facility of the Knox Co. Hospital. Interment will be in the Hammons Cemetery at Flat Lick. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
