Lucy "Katie" (Garrison) Hensley

Mrs. Lucy “Katie” Garrison Hensley, age 91 of San Diego, California formerly of Barbourville, departed this life on Thursday, September 28, 2017 in California. She was the widow of Hubert Hensley and the daughter of Charles and Margaret Garrison born to them on May 28, 1926 in Kentucky. Katie was a member of the Swan Pond Baptist Church and was a homemaker. She is preceded in death by her husband Hubert along with her parents and one great granddaughter, Jenna Painter and several brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her daughter Gloria Painter and husband Ronald of California and her son Hubert Hensley, Jr. and wife Pamela Jean of Michigan, three grandchildren, Gary Painter and wife Patricia and Jacqueline Marcum and husband Joseph all of California and Allan Hensley of Michigan, five great grandchildren, Timothy, Jeremy and Joshua Marcum, Jacob and Jillian Painter. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.

Funeral services for Mrs. Lucy Hensley will be conducted on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Swan Pond Baptist Church with Rev. Michael DeLand, Brook Mills and Michael Mills officiating. Pallbearers will be, Tanner Mills, Trevor Mills, Scotty Partin, Hubert Hensley, Jr. and Allan Hensley. She will be laid to rest in the Mayhew Cemetery in Barbourville. Cobb Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.

Friends will be received at the Swan Pond Baptist Church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 11:00 a.m.
