Lucy Daniels

Mrs. Lucy Daniels, age 87 of Barbourville, KY departed this life on Sunday August 9, 2009 in the Knox Co. Hospital. She was the widow of Bert Daniels and the daughter of John D. Hale and Katherine Bargo Hale born to them on September 13, 1921 in Knox Co., KY. Mrs. Daniels believed in the Baptist faith. She was a homemaker and liked to quilt and watch UK basketball.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John & Katherine Hale, her husband Bert Daniles, one brother, James Pal Hale and six sisters, Nora Clark, Martha Patterson, Sally Williamson, Lillie Hale, Mary Hinkle and Betty Payne.
Left behind to mourn her passing is one son, Jerry Daniels of Barbourville, KY, one daughter, Janet Prewitt and husband Ronald of Corbin, KY, one grandchild, Vernon Ledford and wife Sherry of Hinkle, KY and two great grandchildren, Jesse Ledford and Wade Ledford. Mrs. Daniels also leaves behind a host of many other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral services for Mrs. Daniels will be conducted on Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at 4:00 p.m. in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rick Partin and Rev. Sylvester Dunn officiating. Pallbearers will be family & friends. Honorary Pallbearers will be Charlie Davis, Ted Jones, Mike Jones, H.M. Callihan, Jr. and Dr. West. Mrs. Daniels will be laid to rest in the Callihan Cemetery at Bimble. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.

The Daniels family will receive friends on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 4:00 p.m.
