Ms. Lucille Yeager, age 93 of Barbourville, passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2018, in the Barbourville Appalachian Regional Hospital. She was the daughter of John and Clara Barnickle Boeres, born to them on July 3, 1924, in Owensville, Ohio. On May 5, 1961, she united in marriage to Ernest Yeager. Lucille worked as a seamstress many years before she decided to work alongside her husband in his lawn and tree service. She was a member of the River Baptist Church. Lucille loved to laugh and to make you laugh. She had a memorable “belly laugh” that everyone will remember her by. She loved to watch QVC, animal programs and go shopping.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death her son, Kenneth Schleyer; Three sisters; Alice Katherine Kellerman, Mary Ann Justice and Shirley Marie Krummert: Two brothers-in-law, Joe Yeager and Alford Yeager and Bill Yeager; Sisters-in-law: Irene Gibson, Mae Blankenship, Evelyn Duhon and Sarah Smith.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Georgia Schleyer of Milford, Ohio; a special nephew, who was like her son, Doyle Yeager and wife Tammy, who have been her caregivers: A sister-in-law Naomi Ledington of Barbourville; Her loving grandchildren; Kelli, Kenny Jr., Tammy, Nicole and Annette; 24 Great-Grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren: Special friends who she loved like family; Billy, Joannie & Brayden Mills, Dewayne & Shelia Smith, Ray & Beverly Hyatt and Johnny & Marquitta Broughton.

Funeral services for Lucille Yeager will be conducted in the Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, February 15, 2018, at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Dewayne Smith and Rev. Billy Mills officiating. Burial will follow in the Yeager Cemetery with Kyle Yeager, Brad Smith, Johnny Broughton, Greg Elliot, Ray Hyatt, Kenny Schleyer Jr., and Larry Messer serving as pallbearers. Those serving as honorary pallbearers will be Lucille’s church family at River Baptist Church, her home health caregivers as well as Dr. West and his staff.

Friends will be received at the Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 14, 2018, after 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. and on Thursday, after 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to River Baptist Church in loving memory of Lucille.

Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
